In the Professional Photographers of America (PPA) annual International Photographic Competition, a panel of 36 eminent jurors from across the United States select the top photographs from approximately 5,000 total submitted entries at PPA headquarters in Atlanta. Judged against a standard of excellence, roughly 21% of the images are selected for the General Collection. Less than half of the General Collection images are then selected for the esteemed Imaging Excellence Collection—the best of the best. The Imaging Excellence Collection images are published in the annual ” Imaging Excellence Collection” book by Marathon Press.
